Resolutions for the NEW YEAR!

NEW YEAR'S EVE!

I am linking up with A Peach for the Teach

RESOLUTIONS are a great way to help keep yourself motivated and moving towards a positive year!  This year I am going to try to keep my resolutions going until at least maybe April!   That way I can say that I gave it a true effort.

PERSONAL RESOLUTION:  to take time for myself.  At one time, not so long ago I was motivated and dedicated to working out and keeping myself healthy.  I had a great routine going where I did Pilates, Yoga, then the stress of work took over and the me time become work time!

PROFESSIONAL RESOLUTION: I enjoy school and taking classes.  My husband has always supported me with attending workshops and going for additional degrees.  I have way too many certifications and certificates on the wall.  He often jokes with me saying where will that degree go?  I am going to really look and think about all the professional development I have taken and try to put it to use!  I have thought about teaching a class somewhere.  Maybe.... one day....

CLASSROOM RESOLUTION: Throw stuff out!!!  I think that sums it up.  I have so much stuff and it is all organized and put into cute labeled areas, but really.... do I need it all!   So operation throw it out will begin..... soon, I promise!

BLOG RESOLUTION:  I get emails often from teachers all over the country that ask me, how I do things in my classroom.   I am going to try and use my blog as a place to showcase more of what I do in my classroom!  j

JUST-FOR-FUN!  I really enjoy photography and I have been fortunate enough to travel to many places on this beautiful Earth!   I enjoy taking photos and have some great shots, but I  really wish I knew more about the features of my camera.  (Actually this is a great resolution for my husband to have, that way he can just tell me what setting to put the camera on!

*We Remember * We Heal * We Act*

As educators, we remember and honor our fallen colleagues and their students from Sandy Hook School.  We honor them each day in our classrooms in which we continue their dream of teaching our children.  We honor their memory with our service.  Join with teachers everywhere in committing random acts of kindness to show our love for Sandy Hook.

This year my students created cards and notes to be given out to seniors in our community that are without families.  We created cards for them during Thanksgiving and also we completed winter holiday cards as well.  They are already talking about making Valentine's cards!   The students feel important knowing that they are making someone happy.

See It, Read It, Write it! Interactive Action!

Blends are tricky!   Many of my students are speech and language impaired and learning blends for them is even harder.  We have been practicing on mastering CVC words and they have enjoyed working with the PICTURE PERFECT activities I created.   So I thought, why not continue with what I know works and with what they also ENJOY doing!   Happy engaged students makes for a Happy teacher :)

This was a treat that I introduced this week!  I got an email from a parent that asked where she could buy the game that her son would not top talking about!   (He added it to his Christmas list in hopes that Santa would bring him one!)  Good thing I have Santa's number!

Nothing says hands on multisensory learning fun, more than Wikki Sticks and magnetic letters!

Each blend has two boards that can be laminated or put into sheet protectors

Black and white for markers and letter stamps.

Colorful mats for magnetic letters, Wikki Sticks, or Dry Erase marker!

Each booklet is blend specific.  These 6 page interactive booklet are excellent to reinforce and give additional practice.   They also give the student repetition and confidence in learning the blend.

Here it is in action!

Reading words with the blend

Writing words with the blend.

Finding and coloring words that have the special blend.

Remove the last page of the booklet and student will have to match the picture with the proper word, all focusing on the blend of the booklet.

Blends is the focus and these activities are sure to get them excited.

WOW!  Look at all the interactive booklets available and ready for students to use!

Also available is a DIGRAPH set!   With Beginning AND Ending Digraphs.  These booklets and activities follow the same format as the blends to ensure all student success and independence.

Thank you for your support and your pins!  :)
Look for additional interactive sets coming soon.  Email me if you have a special request for your special learners!

Currently and a Great CYBER SALE

Oh December, How I love thee! But where did the year go?

I am linking up with Farley at Oh ' Boy 4th Grade

LISTENING  to to the quiet sound of the computer hum!  A lovely sound since the husband and the dogs are out of the house!

LOVING that today is the first day of December and 3 weeks left until Christmas vacation!

THINKING that I might want to start my Christmas shopping!  My niece and nephews have written Santa a few letters about their top picks.

WANTING just one more day of this beautiful long weekend.  Nothing to greedy, just need one more day to do my weekend things.

NEEDING a NAP!   nothing else to explain

Favorite Tradition Since I was a little girl, my aunt would come over for a huge Christmas bagel breakfast.  When she had children we would go there and play with all the toys that Santa dropped off!  Almost 30 years later the tradition continues. We still make time for this special day.  Although the toys that Santa brings are different now!

In case you haven't heard, TPT is having a CYBER SALE starting tomorrow!

These are some of my newest items and a few best sellers.
Happy Shopping
