Ruff Life....

Monday, June 10, 2013
Apparently size doesn't matter.  The little guy decides that HE will lay in on the big bed.   All this commotion all while my husband is trying to repaint the wall.   Ahh what a way to spend Monday night!  Just look at those faces.... Two dogs grateful to be rescued and living the good life!  They are spoiled, spoiled dogs.

This is how I spent Monday Morning!  I have to park my car four city blocks from my school (that's where I rent a parking spot.  Ahh, life in the big city!)  I just happen to have flip flops in the trunk. (You never know when you might be in mood for a fresh pedicure!)  So I rolled up my pants and walked. The crossing guard looked at me, like I was crazy!  I just nodded and waved good morning.   I got to school, dried my feet and was ready for whatever Monday had for me!

How was YOUR Monday?

Take a look at these two AWESOME giveaways!  The prizes are unreal!  Head over and enter for your chance to win the loot!

My student teacher has graduated and left our class last week.  As a parting gift, my class and I created some personal items for her future classroom. After she left our class, it looks like she just left the teacher supply store!  I made her a custom word wall with her favorite primary colors and polka dots!  She also got my rainbow chevron word wall too. I laminated the words for her and my students cut out everything for her.   I am going to create some additional piece for her.

The teacher I share a room wants to go back old school.  So I created these for her classroom and my teaching corner   Who would have thought that with SMART boards and IPads we would want old school chalkboard themes!

The calendar kit will have some added pieces to the set.

If you made it all the way done here, do tell, What's your theme for next year?

Snow... Lucky Dogs... and a New Unit

Sunday, February 24, 2013
It seems that time keeps on moving faster and faster, right or is it just me?   Didn't we just celebrate Groundhog's Day.. now we are up to the 100th day and zip.. poof... gone.  Bye, bye February!     I celebrated the 100th day twice because I work in two schools and they fell on different days.  So by the time all the celebrating was over, I felt like I really was 100 years old!

Here in NY we enjoyed lots of snow and the pups enjoyed it too. Well, the big guy LOVES snow. He gallops and trots around and barks at the snow blower. The little dude, no so much! Since he was a rescue dog from the south, this snow thing is kinda strange for him. Mixed with the fact that the snow was twice his height! The Mr. has to plow the grass because Pico, just didn't know what to do! Here they are enjoying the day out.

(above) Pico isn't so sure of what to do... Big dude clearing the path for him to go.

That arrow is pointing to the smaller dog! We took the picture as proof he went out, after three days. Poor little guy!

We all made it back :)

While we were snowed in,  here is something that I worked on, I realize that dog owners do wonderful things for their pets.  But it is the dogs that bring joy to our live and make coming home after a crazy hectic, data driven, small group teaching day.

This Lucky Dog unit has clocks, graphing, tally and sums to 10.  My class is multi grade, multi level, so I create materials that we are always working on.  Click on the picture to show you a better preview.

The Luck of the Irish resource is all about ten frames.  My kids enjoy doing ten fram activities, everytime a supervisor talks about math in our class, the kids shout... ten frames are so much fun.  So it is safe to say these activities are kid approved.

I promise to be back this week with something more exciting than my dogs!
What pet in your house captures your heart?  I would love to hear about them.

Thank you friends for following my blog.  Leave me a note about who you are and I will be sure to check you out if I don't already stalk, follow you already.
